Serve

It Starts with A Conversation

Mark 10:45

According to the Bible, every Christian has been given at least one spiritual gift to use in service to the body of Christ. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen”

Serve in our church

Use your unique gifts to help build the Kingdom.

Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. We want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can serve and grow at this church.  Sign up to meet with one or more of the  ministry team leaders to explore where you might best use the very unique gifts given you by God. The New Members Orientation is a great place to learn about EMCC and discover your gifts.

USHERS, GREETERS & PARKING ATTENDANTS

The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life. This fun and enjoyable team is truly the first impression of Church In Action! If you relish the great outdoors, look good in a uniform, and enjoy telling people where to go, this is the team for you!

Praise & Worship Team

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and dance ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in dance. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Dance Ministry

The Dance Ministry is a vital part of the Worship Ministry at EMCC. The Dance Ministry is headed by Sis Connie Obillo, a noted and gifted professional who pours her heart and soul into this ministry and its members.

The Production Team

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook , YouTube, and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

Food Pantry

The EMCC Food Pantry feeds hundreds of needy families each month. Volunteers are always need to help shop and pickup the food, stock the shelves and  be on hand to distribute the food to those in need.

Security Team

The Security team aids in the overall safety and security of the facility and worshipers assuring a safe environment for all. There are two parts of this team: two teams, one ministry. There is the security and safety component which is comprised of volunteers with a background in law enforcement, military service and security for these roles. There is also the medical team which includes medically trained professionals

Financial Ministry

Stewardship & Accountability

Those who lead in spiritual matters should also lead in financial matters (Acts 4:35,37; Acts 11:29,30; 1 Timothy 3:3,8). Money should be handled in such a way that is defensible against any accusation (2 Corinthians 8:21). Money stewards should be trustworthy people.  EMCC believes that a church's finances are only as strong as the finances of its members; as such, EMCC teaches and practices sound biblical financial principles because we are interested in it's members "prospering even as their soul prospers". EMCC hosts classes on financial stewardship to include Financial Peace University, home-buying seminars,  credit building, entrepreneurial and small business workshops and of course, tithing and the principles of sowing and reaping.

Volunteer FAQ

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
1 PETER 4:10-11

How do I volunteer?

It starts with a conversation. Fill out the form below and the appropriate team member will reach out to you to schedule a time to talk and help you explore the various ministries and areas of service at EMCC>

Why should I volunteer ?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as cleaning the church, to serving in a wide variety of minitries.

Missions

Empowerment Ministries Christian Center is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in supporting missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.
